Sorry if this has been asked, but what is Dye for? Do you need it to make your Guild Cape?

No you go to the emblem ppl (npc)'s in like a town for making guilds etc and it costs a decent coin.

Yep, 2,000 gold to make a cape design for your guild. Then all who join will have that cape--- for free. The emblem maker is next to the Baron who registers your guild. He is located in the upper area by the fountain in Ascelon after the searing.
